Based on a survey of 3,850 consumers across 11 Asia Pacific markets, conducted with independent research agency Blackbox Research, the study reveals a significant gap between confidence and behaviour online. While 85% of consumers rate their online safety habits as good, only 44% consistently practice strong cyber hygiene, explaining why 39% report having experienced cybercrime, with most incidents resulting in financial loss. The research also highlights growing concern about AI driven scams, with 92% worried they will become harder to detect. Importantly, consumers increasingly view cybersecurity as a shared responsibility, with nearly one in two expecting action from institutions such as insurers, banks, telcos, and technology providers — underscoring demand for simple, embedded protection solutions.
