Becoming a mentor in the RGA Leaders of Tomorrow program gives senior insurance executives the opportunity to support rising industry stars. It’s a meaningful way to share your experience and show your organization’s commitment to leadership excellence, with a time commitment mindful of your executive schedule.
Mentor Criteria
Mentors selected for the RGA Leaders of Tomorrow program meet the following qualifications:
- A seasoned insurance executive representing an IIS Global or Corporate Member company.
- A current member of Executive Management with extensive leadership and insurance industry experience in life, health, or P&C insurance.
- A demonstrated commitment to leadership development, coaching, and industry collaboration.
- Willingness to serve as an advisor and sounding board, not as a recruiter or placement resource.
Mentor Commitment
The program is designed to respect the time constraints of senior executives while ensuring meaningful engagement.
- Time Commitment:
- Three (3) mentor-mentee meetings over a six-month period.
- Participation in two (2) virtual RGA Leaders of Tomorrow group meetings.
- Role of the Mentor:
- Provide strategic perspective, candid feedback, and seasoned advice on leadership, industry issues, and professional development.
- Support the mentee’s growth without involvement in job placement or career transition assistance.
- Review mentee papers, attend the virtual RGA Leaders of Tomorrow presentation session, provide candid feedback, and support the selection of the top three participants for the Leaders of Tomorrow session at the Global Insurance Forum.
- Nomination Privilege:
- Mentors may nominate one candidate from their own company, who will be paired with a mentor from another organization to ensure objective guidance and broader exposure.
