Chief Financial Officer, Manulife Canada, and Head of Manulife Quebec

Mr. Gerbeau is Chief Financial Officer, Manulife Canada, and Head of Manulife Quebec. He is responsible for financial management, governance, and performance across the Canadian business. He is also responsible for developing and implementing the Quebec strategy aimed at strengthening Manulife’s position and supporting the Company’s mission and vision in its quest to become a digital, customer-centric market leader.

Mr. Gerbeau has 25 years of experience in the Canadian insurance market. From 2022 to 2026, he served as Chief Financial Officer for Group Benefits, Manulife Canada. Prior to that, he was Chief Financial Officer for Individual Insurance in Canada from 2018 to 2022 and Chief Actuary for the Canadian market from 2015 to 2018. He joined Manulife through the acquisition of Standard Life, where he had served as Appointed Actuary, and played a key role in integrating Standard Life business with Manulife.

Mr. Gerbeau holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics (1999) and a master’s degree in Statistics (2001) from the Université de Montréal. He is a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and the Society of Actuaries and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Recognized for his leadership and engagement in the actuarial community, Mr. Gerbeau currently sits on the Board of Festival Classica. He previously served on the Boards of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and the Actuarial Standards Board and chaired the Committee on Life Insurance Financial Reporting, along with several other professional committees.
