Tonya is an innovative tech leader with a strong background in business leadership, strategy, and operations. She has over 15 years’ experience in the industry with broad experience across Life Insurance, Reinsurance and Insurtech.
Prior to her current role, Tonya was CEO of APEXA, an Insurtech start-up that scaled to be an industry platform used by over 95% of Carrier and MGAs in Canada. Under her leadership APEXA was twice named to RegTech 100 as one of the world’s most innovative RegTech solutions and received the top prize at the Efma-Accenture Innovation in Insurance Awards for most innovative Business Model Transformation.
She now enjoys leading AURA NEXT, RGA’s SaaS-based automated underwriting platform used in 19 countries across the globe. In addition to leading AURA NEXT, she is responsible for the strategic direction and oversight of RGA’s global portfolio of digital underwriting products.
Tonya is an energetic leader and an experienced public speaker who thrives in the face of challenge and opportunity.
She has a Bachelor of Commerce from Dalhousie University and an MBA from Sir Wilfred Laurier. In her leisure time you will find her somewhere in the mountains either mountain biking, hiking or skiing.
