Description of Program:
The University of Witwatersrand or simply Wits University offers a comprehensive Bachelor of Commerce Degree with an insurance and risk management major with the main areas of focus being risk management, property and casualty insurance, economics of insurance, pensions and health insurance. Students who get 65% or better in the insurance major qualify to do a Bachelor of Commerce Honours Degree in Insurance and Risk Management offering courses like regulation of insurance, financial risk management, liability insurance, and reinsurance among others. Thereafter, students can apply to do a Master of Commerce in Insurance and Risk Management and later proceed to PhD. These degrees are offered on a full-time and part-time basis.
