The Dr. William T. Hold / The National Alliance Program in Risk Management and Insurance is housed within the Department of Risk Management/Insurance, Real Estate and Legal Studies. The program is one of the oldest and largest in the nation. Close interaction among students, faculty members, alumni and the business community are hallmarks of the program. The program maintains two centers and offers degrees at the undergraduate, master’s, and PhD level. All degrees provide students with a well-rounded curriculum and a variety of job placement services.

The master’s program is designed for the working professional. It is fully online and can be completed in just under two years. The courses, taught by knowledgeable faculty, focus on the critical thinking through analysis and application of concepts to real-world situations. Alumni of the program are leaders in the risk management and insurance field.

This program primarily prepares students for careers in academia by providing both education and training in research and teaching. In addition, the Storm Center also organizes conferences and other events to educate consumers and policymakers on issues related to catastrophe storm risk management. The Center for Risk Management Education and Research provides educational and professional development opportunities for students and works to foster continuous interaction between the Dr. William T. Hold / The National Alliance Program in Risk Management and the industry. It also organizes events for stakeholders on current issues related to risk management and insurance and provides support to faculty with the goal of producing high-quality research.
