What did being named an RGA Leader of Tomorrow mean to you?

Being named an RGA Leader of Tomorrow was a great honour to me, but most importantly it confirmed that the work I am doing is important and that it adds value to the company. Exposure to the LOT mentors and mentees also gave me the opportunity to reflect on my own career and get a fresh perspective on various life and non-life insurance topics. 

How can the industry and/or companies better foster the career development of young professionals?

Apart from giving young professionals the opportunity to work on challenging tasks, mentorship programs are very important. A well-structured mentorship program should be able to provide young professionals with an exposure to other parts of business as well as help them to build a rich professional network. Besides that, I find it important to be able to discuss topics and your career goals with someone other than your manager or your own team.
